Position Purpose/Summary

Blue Ridge Beverage Company, Inc., located in Central and Southwest VA, is a large beverage distribution company seeking a full-time Red Bull Specialist for the Salem, VA area. The individual in this position will be responsible for all outlets pertaining to Red Bull sales within their assigned territory to include off-premise, on-premise and non-traditional accounts. This position will work daily to increase brand awareness, improve product positioning with strategic placements, gain new accounts, and improve Red Bull marketing. The position reports directly to the Red Bull Brand Manager. This is a salary position that offers a monthly bonus program. A vehicle will be provided to use during company business hours.

Wage Range: $48,000 - $52,000

Position Duties

  • Work daily to gain new placements as well as incremental placements. These placements must be in a profitable location with heavy foot traffic.
  • Call on top 25 accounts monthly and record the accomplishments. These calls will be logged in the Red Bull Specialist book.
  • Maintain all tracking required by RBNA to include QPOD tracker, High 5, display drive, VIP accounts, etc. These trackers will be kept current at all times. Work with the sales force to ensure accuracy. Conduct account surveys as directed to include for pricing, product types being sold, and freshness. Surveys may also include competitor information.
  • Call on inactive/no buy accounts if they have significant account potential. These accounts must be visited to uncover the issues and learn about competitive activity.
  • Execute all incentives and National promotions.
  • Update the POS in the market on a regular basis. Assure that all displays, coolers, etc. have correct pricing posted and are clean at all times.
  • Deliver any equipment, such as cold equipment and warm displays, as needed. All equipment must be in working condition and have light bulbs burning at all times.
  • Develop the Non-Traditional (NTOP) account base. Build this category by calling on new accounts, identifying opportunities in existing accounts, etc. These accounts will consist of colleges, vending accounts, hospitals, and others. NTOP accounts are accounts that are not your traditional convenience stores, grocery stores, or bar/restaurants.
  • Work closely with RBNA support personnel when they are available.
  • Monitor and react to competitive activity in our accounts. Inform BRB management of all activity involving space allocation changes, equipment placements/removals, new items, etc.
  • Assist with scheduled Red Bull space resets. These will be coordinated with the division Sales Manager.
  • Work with other Red Bull specialists, as needed. This may include cold calling, coaching, training, and paperwork processing.
  • Work some evening and/or weekend events such as parties, special events, and staff trainings.
  • Help to develop the On-Premise channel with support and innovation. This will include scheduling events, implementing drink features, etc.
  • Monitor inventory of POS and Red Bull identified equipment (On- and Off-Premise). Assure that equipment agreements are completed and properly filed.
  • Coordinate and implement new item launches and strategies.
  • Communicate promotional activity to the sales team, usually during weekly sales meeting.
  • Complete weekly pre-plans to Sales Manager, consisting of planned account visits, desired accomplishments, opportunities, etc. All weekly results from visits will be recapped back to Sales Manager in detail.
  • Focus on goals set by the Sales Manager. The goals will consist of daily/weekly and monthly objectives. A presentation of the success will be expected by management each month.
  • Deliver product to accounts as needed.
  • Maintain clean and organized vehicle.

Minimum Position Requirements


  • Minimum 2 years of experience in customer service or sales related positions.
  • Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to work and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in technology.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver license with excellent driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen that includes THC. Blue Ridge Beverage has a zero-tolerance drug policy.


  • Able to develop image building strategies through account development, support, and innovation.
  • Able to build strong relationships within our accounts in all channels, especially top 25 accounts. Look for methods to increase visibility and profitability.
  • Have the ability to focus on and execute goals as set by Red Bull Brand Manager.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that consistently requires a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict Company and Red Bull quality standards.
  • Must have good driving record and demonstrate history of operating a motor vehicle in a safe manner.
  • This position may require some after hour and weekend work for special events, parties, and staff training.
