You will support the Controller to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, oversee general accounting functions, and share responsibility for accounting processes and internal controls. Position Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monthly and annual closing process to result in timely and accurate financial statements, including reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, corporate company credit cards/travel expense reports, and inventory transactions.
  • Review, update and enforce internal control policies and procedures to ensure segregation of duties and minimize fraud risk.
  • Help provide timely and accurate data to public accounting firm in connection with the annual audit.
  • Help provide timely and accurate data for federal and state tax returns.
  • Lead a team of committed and capable employees to ensure successful delivery of accounting services aligned with business objectives.
  • Ensure the accuracy of the month-end closing of the purchasing and inventory modules in the Company's ERP.
  • Perform variance analysis of financial and route accounting sales and cost of sales, reconciling and taking corrective action as necessary based on the analysis.
  • Analyze errors discovered in the financial software and other systems tools assigned to this role, reporting to IT, or escalating to immediate manager as necessary.
  • Generate data and reports for the monthly reporting package, as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • 5 years’ experience in accounting professional level work.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Windows.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Positive personal leadership, interpersonal, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
  • Availability to travel to other Company locations, less than 20%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA.
  • Experience in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
  • Experience in a transaction-heavy business.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of US taxes with regard to business operations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) software package.
