Our Nitro IPA is boldly bitter yet surprisingly smooth. Nitro can mute aroma and leave bitterness, particularly in IPAs, so to stand up to the creaminess of nitro we used heavy doses of dry hopping to achieve the resinous pine, spice, and citrus hop character we love. A fortitude of hop character remains with notes of resinous pine and citrus for a flavorful, lingering finish. 7.5%
With his great-great grandfather's recipe for Louis Koch Lager as his guide, Jim Koch brewed the first batch of Samuel Adams Boston Lager in his kitchen in 1984. Six weeks after its Boston introduction in April 1985, Samuel Adams was selected as "The Best Beer in America" in The Great American Beer Festival's Consumer Preference Poll. Since 2000, Samuel Adams has won more awards in international beer tasting competitions than any other brewery in the world, and is currently the largest U.S. crafter brewer.
